Seiya
Small puffs of air that smelled like dog and freshly wet grass were blowing into Seiya's face assaulting his senses. Unfortunately Seiya was moving at a fast pace facing the wind that was currently whipping at his face. Even more unfortunate was that he probably wouldn't be changing direction or slowing his speed soon. At least is his dog Kuma (who is honestly to strong for his own good) had anything to say... well bark about it. For a brief moment Seiya entertained the thought of what would have happened if he hadn't begged his parents for a pet that could be classified as a type of bear.
"I probably would still be in bed." Seiya thought to himself before Kuma yanked on his leash practically dis locating Seiya's arm. Fortunately Kuma paused before he could permanently damage Seiya's arm functions. The big dog brought his nose to the ground sniffing trying to pick up a scent. Seiya bent over and panted relived to have a reprieve. Though just as Seiya was about to sit down Kuma's head shot up. To soon did Kuma start dragging Seiya towards whatever sent he caught.
"I hate mornings."
Seiya unsuccessfully tried to reign in his exuberant dog but Kuma was just to set on finding whatever he smelled. Abruptly Kuma halted and Seiya who was still struggling against him tried to slow his momentum but instead gracelessly feel down in front of his dog. with mock contempt Seiya glared at Kuma
"Thanks for that." Kuma didn't pay any head to his owner instead vying to look over at something. When Seiya got up to look at what it was he could hardly blame his pet for choosing to ignore him. Seiya's childhood best friend, Minato was crouched down a few meters away next to a water fountain. Minato's face was illuminated by a few morning rays that were able to break through the clouds. His midnight black locks were wet and few water droplets streamed down falling on to concrete.
If Seiya had been even remotely acceptable at art he would have spent his life time trying to create the image of his best friend in this moment. Minato looked open, his emotions free to see. But those emotions were so deeply sad. The sight pulled at Seiya's heart in away he didn't know existed.
"Beautiful." Seiya whispered unaware that he had dropped Kuma's leash.
Seiya was snapped out of his stupor by Kuma bounding over to the other boy barking. His dog bulldozed straight into Minato's unsuspecting form casing them both to topple over. Kuma then proceeded to lick all over Minato's face in any that if Seiya didn't know any better would be counted as a mauling. Minato responded in kind by rubbing up and down the beast's back fluffing up his fur. Pushing the huge dog off him a little Minato sat up and then burst into laughter at Kuma's appearance. All of Minato's petting had resulted in Kuma's fur being puffed and sticking up. Kuma tilted his head at Minato before shaking his whole body making his fur lay back down.
It made Seiya smile watching Minato giggle softly as Kuma invaded his space begging for more caresses. He didn't smile just because the scene was cute but also that he got to see Minato happy and unguarded. Seiya hadn't seen Minato happy for so long and seeing him now made something inside Seiya want to do whatever he could for Minato to be happy.
Adjusting his glasses Seiya walked over to the pair. As he neared them he was able to detect both their scents. Kuma's scent being earthy, a little like bread, and overall just like a dog. Minato though smelled like nothing. Well not nothing, Seiya could detect soap and shampoo but otherwise nothing. Seiya was reminded he each day he was developing and getting closer to presenting while Minato on the other hand seemed to be staying the same.
While in his head Seiya was musing his body had come to a stop right in front Kuma and Minato. When the other boy looked up Seiya watched as smile slowly fade from off his face. It hurt Seiya to see that this was how Minato reacted to him even though they had been friends for so long. Minato had been distancing himself ever since he had developed target panic and it hadn't helped that Seiya had done basically nothing to stop him from doing so.
"Morning."
"Seiya"
Seiya smiled down at his friend and offered a cloth from his pocket to Minato for him to dry his hair with. There was a teasing glint in his eyes when Minato ignored it and elected to use his shirt instead. As his he did so Seiya caught a glimpse of his abdomen and his scar. Quickly Seiya looked away. He picked up Kuma's leash and let out a huff at Minato's childish action.
"What happened to your dad?" Minato questioned.
"He caught a cold so I was tasked with walking Kuma today and making sure your not late to your own entrance ceremony."
Raising his eyebrow Minato said "Our entrance ceremony." Seiya's eyes widened and Minato stated walking the familiar rote back to their homes. "Did dad tell you about that?" He asked. Both he and Kuma fell in line next to Minato who nodded in response. "Oh, I was hoping to surprise you." Seiya stated sheepishly.
"I am surprised. You could have gone to the affiliated high school." Seiya watched Minato reach down and pat Kuma's head. "Nah I was so worried I wasn't going to pass Kazemai's exam, good thing I did though." Seiya replied standing in front of his gate watching Minato go over and open his.
"Minato"
Pausing Minato looked over his shoulder as Seiya said. "I glad I get to go to high school with you."
Minato looked at Seiya for a small moment before giving him a small smile. Turning back around Minato let his gate close and went inside his house.
After Minato had gone inside, Seiya stared at his closed door lost in thought. A bark brought Seiya back and he looked down at Kuma who was looking back up at him with impairment and gloating eyes.
“Yeah yeah, I know he likes you more.” He said patting the dog's head then going to open his gate.

At the end of the day Seiya looked out his bedroom window up at the sky that was now dark and full of stars. Thoughts were swirling around in his head as he reviewed the events of the day.
His speech had gone well. He and Minato reconnected with a childhood friend, Ryouhei, who was able to get Minato to go to the Kyudo club meeting. And that had gone well.
Well kind of.
When Tommy-sensei had chosen Minato demonstrate how to shoot he was worried. Minato protested at first but eventually gave in and demonstrated the perfect form. Seeing Minato with the bow in hand, all eyes on him, made pride swell up in Seiya as he stood in awe of his best friend, partaking in a thing a clearly loved.
Unfortunately after returning the gym clothes he had borrowed from Seiya Minato fled. Leaving Seiya to try put up with clearly newly presented alpha Kaito.
The new alpha was overly aggressive and had scent, even though muted to him, made Seiya's nostrils burn. Kaito also very loudly and repeatedly expressed his dislike of Minato despite Ryouhei kindly asking him to stop. He definitely wasn't in Seiya's good graces.
Seiya looked to across the street to where Minato own room was. His curtains were shut and gave no indication to whether anyone was inside. He thought back to the look on Minato's face when he was in the club room. He looked so at home.
So Happy.
The same thing inside Seiya that stirred that morning stirred again. He had promised himself that he would do anything to keep Minato happy. Kyudo made Minato happy.
Seiya swore that just as Minato had brought him to Kyudo when they were kids he would bring Minato back to Kyudo
