Matt nodded slowly. "I'm not happy at all."
Frank laughed sadly, resting their foreheads together. "I'll miss you."
Matt's heart clenched at Frank's words. "Then… let's give it one more try, Frank. Maybe—maybe this time, it will be different."
"It won't." Frank shook his head. "You know that, don't you, Red? I know you can feel it too."
Matt swallowed hard as he wrapped his arms around Frank's shoulders and held him close. "I—I wish it would be."

Summary
"So, I was thinking," Red begins after they're done, a sheen of sweat still on their bodies. "I'd be easier if I had a phone number I could call. So I don't waste my time wandering the streets for hours."
He says it like he's joking. But his body doesn't lie. His posture is stiff, and the fingers of one hand are tugging at a loose thread in the cheap blanket.
It's not a big deal, really.
So, Frank becomes a booty call. A phone number Red can call when he needs to feel human for a little while, before he slips back into whatever nightmare he's chosen for himself.
(Or, they start off as enemies, become allies (sort of), Frank becomes a booty-call. And something else entirely.)

He can think of seven people, though, who might in the right circumstances (okay, six, because the Bat would probably choose a slow, painful death over coming to Jason), and one idiot in particular who would come to Jason’s place rather than going to the Cave for help.
