Summary
Princess Nene Yashiro dreams of marrying a handsome prince, but sadly, that reality doesn't seem to be in the cards for her. Trapped and isolated in her palace, there isn't a day that she doesn't dream of freedom. She will do anything to achieve that dream, even if it involves trusting a mysterious thief who arrived at her window, offering the answers she'd been longing for all her life.
But trust is a dangerous game, especially when blooming feelings cloud her judgment. One wrong move and the Four Kingdoms may fall into an all-out war. Dark secrets buried deep underneath the lies of the land begin to reveal themselves, threatening to shatter any hopes of a peaceful future, and Nene learns that the world she had once longed to become a part of may not be as picturesque as she had been expecting.
Nene must make a choice: either continue to live her life in ignorant bliss and fall victim to fate or learn to survive in this harsh world and claim a future for herself.
This story is my personal twist on an AU created by AidaIro. It will both follow aspects of that world and incorporate my interpretation of plot details in the actual canon. This is Act I of III with a pilot predecessing it.

Nene Yashiro is the isolated heir to the throne. Since her youth, she has been forbidden from exiting her kingdom, speaking to outsiders, and even leaving her palace. Over time she has grown desperate to learn about the outside world, where she hopes to find the man of her dreams. She finds herself living through fantasies rather than reality. Relying on fiction and false hope in order to get through the monotonous days of her bleak life.
But, everything changes when a mysterious amber-eyed boy shows up at her window, followed by a trail of mind-numbing secrets. Nene finds herself intrigued by him, desperately wanting to know more about the mysterious boy. So, she cuts a deal with him, to learn about the outside world. But at what cost? Should she really be placing this much trust in an enemy?
In a world teetering over the edge of war, Nene must tread carefully. She has to balance her attempts at winning her freedom while navigating her newfound feelings cautiously. One wrong move, and the world could tip over the edge in the depths of a war the world cannot recover from.
