Amelia felt suffocated with the ring of people around her, chanting something indiscernible. All she had to do was kiss him. That's what couples do. Kiss. Him. She commanded her body, yet it didn’t move. Why was it so hard?
She held back her tears, Odalia's voice in her head, ‘tears are unbecoming of a Blight' she would say in the middle of screaming and shouting at Amelia.
Her ‘boyfriend’ got tired of waiting. He put his hands on her waist, weighing Amelia down, and kissed her. His tongue was quick to follow. Amelia's ‘friends’ cheered. Amelia was sure she threw up at least a little, she was not prepared for something so intimate and disgusting with a ‘stranger'. She cursed her mother.
His hands were everywhere, on her neck, cheeks, breasts, thighs.
And then Amelia was running.
OR,
Amelia gets sexually assaulted by her 'boyfriend'.
When she runs away, she meets Lucia.

Her first thought was 'wow' she looked... amazing. She looked even better then before! She really looked like Amity. She didn't look like her mom or her siblings! This was the best day of her life, she decided. She laughed and giggled and bounced her feet, she knew that behaviour would seem childish and weird but Amity didn't care at all. How could she? She finally looked like herself. She looked like the person she wanted to be!
Amd this time, when tears of happiness stung at Amity's eyes she didn't blink them back, instead, she welcomed them and let them form and drip down her cheeks.
She was Amity. Not 'Odalia's daughter'. Not the 'youngest of the Blights'. Well, she was still those things but she didn't feel like it. She felt different, good, amazing and happy.
For the first time in her life, Amity could look in the mirror and see someone other then her mother.
Or,
Luz suspects something is wrong with her girlfriend, Amity opens up.
She also somehow ends up dyeing her hair purple with Luz's support.
