“You aren’t getting far in this state.” His younger self huffs the words, little more than a pant. “You can hardly function.”
Viktor’s head snaps towards the smaller man. “Do not underestimate me.” The words come out warbled, weakening the already tenuous facade of his resolve.
“It is not an assumption, Viktor.” He finds a wire, exposed in the crook of his elbow, and rubs a thumb over it. Viktor shudders. “Your machine needs assistance. But your mind is elsewhere, isn’t it?”

He reads the full subject line once, twice, thrice, and even cleans his glasses for good measure before he opens the email, hazel eyes scanning the body text. Jayce has to force himself to not skip words, taking in each one carefully, double checking that he’s seeing this right, that he actually won.
It was a possibility, obviously, that he could. He entered the contest using both his number and his work’s number; he had everybody he knew enter the sweepstakes, too, just to increase his chances. And he didn’t even need it.
Viktor Reveck, legendary stage magician, is leaving retirement for one night, one show, and Jayce got in.

Summary

Two broken stars in a decaying orbit, passing closer and closer together until the inevitable, devastating collision.
Or, Tav is fucked up and down bad for Astarion, who doesn't quite see the appeal (but he's getting there). Sexual frustration, sloppy handjobs, a heavy dose of masochism, and way too many failed Insight checks ahead. Tav falls first, Astarion falls harder (eventually).
Or, a tragic-but-hopeful romance told through a series of incredibly ill-advised sexual encounters.
If you want to read a story where Astarion is sweet from the start and Tav is here to fix him, this isn't the one. If you want to read about two terribly broken men spending a good long while making each other worse before they make each other better, this might be for you. If you thought the in-game romance was a little too easy and it should have been ten times more painful and difficult to convince Astarion he's worthy of love, this is definitely for you.
Set during the canonical events of Baldur's Gate 3.
