    Summary

“I… I could be Robin,” Tim suggested softly, almost not daring to say it, even when nobody alive could hear. “No one could ever replace you, but without Robin, I’m afraid of what Batman could become.”

He knew he would never measure up to Jason Todd or Dick Grayson. But anything was better than nothing, right? He was anything. Even if he was just a candle compared to the bonfires that were Dick and Jason, he could be that light to Batman's darkness. The light Batman so deeply needed.

He owed it to Robin, to Batman, to Gotham—to try.

There was that thumping again, and Tim reminded himself once more that it was probably just the rain, or something reasonable, and not the waking dead.

Too much AMC and George Romero, Tim. Pull yourself together.

    Summary

Working for the Red Hood has certain benefits, as well as certain drawbacks. Benefits included reputation, good pay, low chance of harassment, and a surprisingly good working environment for being hired muscle in Crime Alley. And Doug had met Dakota there, so it worked out pretty well. Drawbacks included the ever-present chance of Hood losing his temper and maiming you - if you fell out of line, that was - a generally low life expectancy, and, of course, the fact that he’d just woken up tied to a chair.

“What the hell?” he muttered, just processing that they were not alone. A good amount of their coworkers found themselves in similar situations, with the chairs arranged in a circle. At one end, clearly in charge of the affair, since he wasn’t restrained at all, was Hood. Next to him, sprawled out between his own chair and Hood’s, head firmly in the crime lord’s lap - and those thighs better be comfortable as fuck because damn they were nice - was Robin.

When Dick told them to go to group therapy, this was absolutely not what he meant. At least they're trying?

I have a love hate relationship with this dynamic. It hurts me, but it's like the way capsaicin hurts. Can't get enough lol. (Yes I know its bascallly poison shuddup).

Also, I love Dakota, he's basically a better version of me.

    Summary

Dick stood up, once again placing himself between Jason and Tim. “This is–”

Jason got off the couch, moving to look Dick in the eye, “I know you haven’t come to terms with it yet, and that’s okay, but he’s not helping and, as much as it pains me to admit, he deserves to know why.”

    “It’s not his fault, Jay.”

He took a deep breath, trying to contain the flood of emotion that statement caused, shoving his hands in his pockets because he had to do something with them. “I know, Dickie. I know. Let me tell him that.”

Dick looked hesitant and Jason put on his best reassuring smile. “I promise not to kill him.”

“Or ‘beat the shit out of him’?”

Jason sighed, “Do I have to promise?”

    Summary

Tim always heard that you should never meet your heroes.

Apparently, they would almost always disappoint you.

But, Tim always thought that his hero was the exception.

Tim remembered a time when he would've been ecstatic to be in the presence of Jason Todd. But, that was before.

Jason Todd, the version Tim admired at least, was dead.

In his place was the Red Hood.

And, if anyone knew anything about the Red Hood, it’s that he hated the newest Robin with every fiber of his being.

These days, the very thought of having to be in his very presence would send Tim spiraling. Not that he would ever tell that to Dick, or God forbid Bruce. The pair wouldn't admit it, well Dick might actually, but they desperately wanted Jason to come back into the family.

Both put up a front like they hated the Red Hood, but Tim is more perceptive than they give him credit for.

    But that’s okay.

Tim knows that he is an afterthought.

    A replacement.
    ----
In other words, Tim has a very, very bad day. (Spoilers, Red Hood shows up).

I had to take breaks multiple times.

    I hate miscommunication so much.

But i also loved this book.

    The duality of life.
