  2. Summary

In 2019, four new rookies were promoted to the F1 grid:

George Russell, the 2018 F2 champion, to Williams.

Lando Norris, the 2018 F2 runner-up, to McLaren.

    Alexander Albon to Torro Rosso.

And most surprisingly to many motor sport fans, who never thought they would see the day, for good or ill, Elise Stewart, the 5th place finisher in the 2018 F2 standings, to Alfa Romeo, replacing Charles Leclerc who had moved from the once-named Sauber team to Ferrari.

The only female driver in F2 in 2018 became the first female F1 racing driver since Giovanna Amati in 1992.

But what the hellscape that was certain sections of the Internet were also hung up on was that she was married, married to George Russell.

All manner of other relatives had raced together or separately in F1 over the years.

But now F1 had its first married couple.

  3. Summary

"There are few even in Rivendell that can ride openly against the Nine; but such as there were, Elrond sent out north, west, and south." FOTR, "Flight to the Ford"

Summary: One well-known, the other lost to history, their story spans nearly ten-thousand years from the shores of Valinor in the Year of the Trees until the Fourth Age when the last Princess of the Noldor makes her final journey into the west. In their two lifetimes, Glorfindel and his twin sister Gloredhel traveled thousands upon thousands of miles on foot, by horse, by ship, and by eagle; saw kingdoms rise and fall; outlived most of their kindred; and saw marvels great and small. Their story is one of grief and despair, loss and hatred, hope and mercy, friendship and love, triumph and final reward.

  4. Summary

Being a member of the Fugitive Task Force was rewarding and disturbing simultaneously.

Horrific crime scenes, horrific fugitives, some of the worst sleaze balls and scumbags to walk the face of the earth, and you had to study them, think like them, all to catch them.

BUT you got the satisfaction of bringing them to justice personally.

That doesn't make it any easier to sleep some nights, though.

  5. Summary

There were four of us once, the Four Great Races, whose power and influence stretched across the galaxies: the Anquietas, the gatebuilders; the Nox, the peacekeepers and healers; the Asgard; and my people, the Furlings. Long have we wandered far from Avalon until our cities have fallen to ruin, our name long forgotten. In the face of the devastation of the Goa'uld Empire—the thieves! May their names be accursed—the influence of the Alliance in this galaxy has faded until only the Asgard stem the tide. No longer. The Goa'uld stole from us, and with that thievery, their rise to power was established, and so the galaxy has languished. No longer.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Summary

The road was empty, almost too empty, the kind of stretch that made the world feel like it had forgotten them. But Ollie had begged for it, and Esteban, against his better judgment, had let himself be talked into it.
By midnight, Esteban had already planned to turn back. The dashboard clock glowed faint gray, the steady rhythm of the wipers syncing with the hum of tires over wet asphalt. He told himself they’d call it a night soon. One more stretch, then home.
Instead, Ollie had made him listen to Taylor Swift.
Esteban couldn’t have named the song if his life depended on it. Something about karma, or maybe revenge, an ex? It all blurred together in the lyrics. Not really his taste. But Ollie knew every word, or at least he pretended to.

Or: The car crash fic no one asked for after Ollie and Esteban said they took a roadtrip together.

    Summary

Quiet self-reflection has never been Sonny Quinn’s M.O. But sitting in the darkness of the jungle, clutching Clay in his arms, his mind wanders to places he wouldn’t normally allow.

Sonny has lost friends before. Teammates even. It’s always been traumatic, but quick.

Never like this. This slow, painful, inevitable crawl toward death. He knows it’s creeping closer and closer, and he can’t do anything to stop it.

    **I promise this isn't a death fic, though it's a close call.

    Summary

    “Shit.”

It was the first thing Brady had said in a good twenty minutes, focused as he had been on navigating their fort through the thick clouds the group had found themselves in over the Atlantic as they made their way from their stopover in Greenland to their new base.

    “Where is everyone?”

At his side Johnny Hoerr, his co-pilot, let out a frustrated grunt as he scanned the sky around them, searching desperately for any sign of one of the plans they’d been with.

    Nothing.

They’d had to throttle back, first due to the cloud and then due to their instrument panel going wild, some gauges failing inexplicably only to return to life moments later, others shorting out entirely before their eyes, so it wasn’t a surprise that they’d fallen behind but neither of them had expected to lose the rest of the group entirely.

This was a disaster, plain and simple, and one they couldn’t afford to have happen.

    ~ * ~ * ~

This one-shot was inspired by a passing though of "what if the flak had hit Brady's plane" during their little detour to France in episode one and I decided to write it to help me get over a bit of writers block with a couple of my other ongoing stories. Enjoy!

    Summary

“Il ne mérite pas d'être ici. Et toi non plus. Clochard.”

The insult landed like a punch to the throat.

And Esteban - who had been so good, so still, so patient - moved.

His fist connected with Pierre’s jaw before either of them could blink.

It wasn’t clean. It wasn’t practiced. But it was fast - years of frustration and unspoken tension poured into a single motion.
