They stood in a ragged line on the salt-stained deck: Jester Lavorre with her blue-tinged skin and mischievous smile, Fjord Stone shifting his weight from boot to boot, Vex'ahlia examining her fingernails with feigned interest, Mollymauk Tealeaf's jewelry tinkling softly in the sea breeze, and Percy's own husband, Vax'ildan, whose dark hair whipped across his face as he avoided Percy's piercing gaze.
"Which one of you," Percy said, his voice starting as a low growl before rising to a thunderous roar that sent nearby gulls scattering, "is going to explain to me WHERE OUR FUCKING MAINMAST IS?!"
Vax and Percy swore they'd start talking about their problems. No more secrets. Is it technically a secret though if they both know and are just trying to solve it in their own way?

It appeared out of nowhere, yet everyone seems to remember it being there years ago, and everyone has been there at least once. The owners are strangely never targeted by the authorities, nor is the disco. It's like they're invisible to them, like they don't exist.
Vax'ildan and Vex'ahlia feel like they're about to go mad. It's like they have all the information they need, but a piece is missing. And the only way of getting that last piece is to go inside.
