Let your body rot with the realization that nothing matters anymore, that the life you knew is over and you will never get it back. Perhaps you shut down and allow others to take charge of your well being because you certainly can't anymore.
What will you do when monsters start to roam the streets? With a gold wave of energy in the sky, your friends now grow scales and fangs with poison that causes people to grow bark for skin. Your neighbors kids grow fluffy ears and tails with a sense of smell that misses nothing. Your family grow soft feathers along their arms with talons sprouting from their fingernails. Creatures that seem to come from fantasy are now in front of you, just as confused and scared as you are.
