They instead end up going to the start of his journey. all the way back on that fateful day when he woke up on a boat on the coast of Bambouche. Throw in a neat little memory wipe and a “back to your old form” and you get what can only be described as a twin brother who you never knew existed.

They step into the clearing, trying to follow the deep marks, making their way to the far end of the clearing. They’re so intently focused on the trail that they manage to run into something.
Something that growls and whips around as they back away slowly.
The thing is huge and darkless, at least the size of a bear, prowling towards them as they stumble and fall backwards like an idiot. The thing snarls as it steps forward, claws plunging into the soil by Loop’s legs as it looms over them, breath hot against their face as all instinct leaves them. They freeze.
