The knife was in his hands.
The knife he used to... to hurt someone.
To kill someone.
Kou took a nervous step back. This... This wasn't happening, right? Any moment now, Hanako would burst out into laughter at seeing his terrified face and smile that mischievous grin again, putting his knife back in his pocket.
Like he always did.
Then why wasn't he putting it back? Why was it still in his hand?
Why did this paralyzing sensation of terror wash over him as Hanako looked at him hungrily, his irises strangely taking on a deep shade of crimson, telling him just how much he wanted to tear him into pieces.
Hanako.. Hanako would never want to hurt him.
Right?
He must have been too hung up on that fact to try to dodge as Hanako lunged forward, shouting "Say your goodbyes!" gleefully, a flash of silver flitting into his vision.

His reflexes had caught up just on time; funny how all that training and not his sense of judgement is what saved him as the knife clangs against the hard metal of his raiteijou, umbrella sheath drifting away.
As the knife dings uselessly off of his weapon, the blonde can't help but notice how much stronger the force behind it was compared to their first meeting. Filled with murderous intent. A quick glance at the gold on the spirit-wielding lightning tool revealed a scratch on its outer surface, deep enough to expose its silver-colored core.
Titanium mixed with a gold, they had told him when he first recieved the weapon. It will hold in the fiercest of fights.
Kou's beginning to doubt that statement as the seventh wonder reels back, head jerking to the side as if controlled by a puppeteer.
