The night goes on and you are awakened from your restful sleep by something slamming into you. hearing an “ow!” you respond with your own sqwak of pain as you feel the weight that rammed into you, shuffle and struggle. Emerging from the depth of colourful spheres, whilst giving a groan of pain and rubbing the ache away from your shoulder, the light stings your eyes and as your vision clears you are brought face to face with a child.
He stares at you wide eyed as you take him in, kid looks like he’s about ten, eleven years old or something, messy brown hair, big brown eyes and a plaster on his cheek; it gives him the rough and tumble kinda look.
Cute kid, kinda a brat, guessing from your years of experience around the pizza plex.
After a gasp he is lifted into the air by long lanky arms you recognise as sundrops as he begins carrying the child out of the pit.
Dang guess you gotta get out yourself.
“Hello new friend! You sure up late! Are we having a slumber party? Where are all of your friends?”
You begin to shamble out of the ball pit wading through it, as you shake your shirt at the edge of the pit to allow a few colourful balls to bounce back in.
“We can finger paint, tell stories. Drink fizzy taz till our heads ex-PLODE and stay up all night! There is only one rule! Keep the lights on!”
The kid promptly knocked over a stack of toys and ran off further into the daycare.
It’s still night? With the kid sliding in here you thought maybe you had slept till morning. A lost kid after hours? Seems like your work is never done. Turning around you poke sundroop in the back getting him to turn his gangly upper half towards you.
“Sorry to crash the slumber party Sunny, but I’ll be chaperoning this nightly escaped.”
“Oh my! The manager is here, and this place is a mess! clean up! clean up! “ he begins chanting to himself.
You begin to approach the area the kid you saw the kid run off in leaving the day care attendant to do his thing. You spot him near the security desk.
“Hey kid! You lost?”
The kid looks at you then begins to mutter to his wrist and you recognise he’s wearing a Faz-watch, you hear him asking about who you are and your not surprised to hear the familiar voice of Freddy fazbear.
“That is the manager!They have great reviews for staff and guests alike! They are sure to help you!”
You scratch the side of your nose feeling the tickle and also a little embarrassed, did they program the watches with staff information for the guests? It makes you feel kinda awkward.
The kid seems to consider you for a moment and then with a gulp offers his name.
“I’m Gregory.. and I’m kinda.. locked in..”
You shrug “ it happens kid, no worries I’m not gonna yell at you, wanna come with me and we can get you outta this place?”
He gives you a nervous look before asking “ Can Freddy come?”
“Freddy? Like …the robot?”
“Yeah, he’s my friend, and I trust him more than, you!”
That is so cute, he’s scared of an employee but trusts the giant robot, the power of a mascot you guess.
“Sure kid we can go to his room and get him.”
“ it’s cool he said he’s outside the daycare already.”
“He’s outside?”
“yeah”
I mean it wouldn’t be the first time the animatronics have been found wondering around. At least the kid has an adult escorting him, we’ll kinda at least he’s not unsupervised at the very least. You offer the kid your hand and he hesitates before grabbing ahold, walking to the door you swipe your manager badge opening the doors before heading through.
Sure enough as the doors close behind you both, stomping shakes the floor as Freddy Fazbear himself appears before you.
“Gregory! I am so glad you are safe! It’s a good thing you found the manager, It will make traversing the building much easier.”
“Hey Freddy, what’s up?”
Turning his attention towards you his chipper dementor remaining.
“ Ah Manager! It is good to see you. Things have been very.. strange tonight.”
His tone strikes you as odd and you gain a creeping feeling at his words.
“Strange? How so?”
“ The others; chica, Roxanne and Monty have been acting rather aggressive tonight and not entirely like themselves. Night guard Vanessa has also been acting… peculiar towards Gregory here.”
Giving pause to mull over Freddy’s words you think of a lot of the reports of the animatronics behaviour recently, the attempts to track errors leading back to this building and Vanessa acting strangely. It seems possible. Huh, guess you really are still working overtime tonight. First things first tho, get this kid someplace safe.
“Alright let’s head upstairs first!” You begin to walk trying to seem positive so as not to freak the kid out despite the weird feeling in your gut.Gregory let’s go of your hand and you watch as he climbs into Freddy’s chest cavity feeling both bewildered and a little concerned at the image of a child crawling into Freddy!?.
Hesitantly you ask “Umm Is it safe in there?” It doesn’t seem exactly safe and you definitely wouldn’t let kids do this normally.
“ The others might still act hostile despite your presence, I will carry Gregory until it I safe.”
“…valid” you both begin head upstairs exiting the day care and despite your concerns Gregory seems to be ok in there… you think.
“I’m gonna grab a few things from my staff locker back at customer service first, I’ll meet you at the elevator.” You head off in a jog to reach your locker leaving freddy next to a recharge station, he can take care of Gregory for 5 minutes you reassure yourself. Taking the upstairs entrance down till you reach the staff area, bypassing the bots with ease as they recognise your manager status. The room is bright enough and you recognise your bright red locker entering in your lock combination it pops open and you take your flashlight and pull a taser out of your bag.
It was a gift from a friend, it was a matching set.
You had been told by one of the technicians that an electric shock could stun or calm the animatronics to a mode default state. You didn’t plan on using it but just incase, you pocket it anyways. With all the stuff you needed gathered you head up to meet Freddy and Gregory back at the elevator.
You spot them easily enough, as you approach however Gregory looks at you and after some deliberation asks:
“ did you see the rabbit?”
Your feel your face contort in confusion “Rabbit?”
“Yeah! Their was a rabbit but Freddy couldn’t see it!”
“ sorry the only rabbit I can think of is bonnie and he’s not been seen around in a while.”
Gregory crosses his arms and huffs, You look at Freddy and shrug.
Although he’s a robot you have to admit that he almost feels human in a way, you’d feel silly talking like this to a robot otherwise, although you do tend to make faces and gestures at the security cameras like your on a TV show some times.
“Gregory I have identified two possible exit points. The main loading dock is located under the food court on the first floor. There is also a fire escape in the third floor price counter, check your Fazwatch. I will mark both locations on your Faz Map.”
Stepping into the elevator you move to the side allowing Gregory to push the button and making room for him and Freddy.
“It appears that you have no FazMap. You should be able to obtain one from the greeter on the centre balcony.”
The elevator begins to lift and the music comes on, you sway and bounce a little to the music till the elevator comes to a stop.
Then promptly laugh as Gregory jumps at the greeter bot offering a map.
“Haha it’s always funny when it’s not you” you say as you nudge Freddy who looks concerned at the kid.
Gregory snatches the map and stomps of in the direction of El chips, Freddy and you follow on from behind.
