Chapter Text

Shopping was a little foreign to Sayaka. She’d never been one to look for anything other than the necessities and so when the twins led them to a high end boutique, Sayaka was easily overwhelmed. Moreso when Kirari said to her, “Feel free to pick out anything you like. I’ll pay for it.”

Taking one look at a price tag, Sayaka immediately refused. “I-I can’t do that! It’s too much!” It was only for a plain cotton shirt. She couldn’t even begin to imagine what anything else cost.

Kirari turns to Ririka. “I trust you can shop for both of us.” She then takes Sayaka and leads her around the store, deciding to shop for her if she won't shop for herself. “I think purple would suit you nicely, and black.”

Kirari would take clothes off the racks and hold them up against Sayaka and would put them back or keep hold of them. Dresses, designer jeans, button up shirts. When she seemed satisfied with her pile, Kirari pushed Sayaka into a dressing room and handed it to her.

“I will be here if you need me,” she tells her.

The curtain closes and Sayaka is left dumbfounded. Was she really expected to try on all of these? She couldn’t exactly refuse when told to do something so she tried on all of them even if she wasn’t going to get any of it. Anything to appease Kirari.

As Sayaka tried them on, and couldn’t help but admire herself in the mirror. These clothes were very high quality but she could never let Kirari get them.

When Sayaka met up with Kirari again, her girlfriend asked, “Did you like them?”

Sayaka blushed. “Y-Yes, but—”

“Good. I’ll pay.”

“Kirari, please don’t,” Sayaka begged. “It’s too much.”

Kirari wanted to argue because they really did look good on her and Sayaka deserved everything she wanted. Looking into those dark pools, Kirari couldn’t help but concede.

She sighed. “If that’s what you want.”

“Thank you.”

Following the twins, they visited several stores with prices Sayaka could only ever dream of affording. Nevertheless, Kirari made her try on some things she picked. Sayaka didn’t really know how to handle herself. The clothes were nicer than anything she owned but as a person who likes to make decisions based on logic and reason, she didn’t accept any of them, especially when Kirari offered to pay multiple times.

Kirari was slightly disappointed Sayaka hadn’t let her buy anything for her. She enjoyed seeing her in clothes she picked out herself. But ever the financial planner, Sayaka argued that she could put the money to better use.

“What do you think of this?” Ririka stood quietly as her sister looked over the white dress.

“Not for me,” she told her.

Ririka disappeared behind the curtain. “That’s what I was thinking.”

As an only child, seeing the twins interact was intriguing. Their relationship reminded Sayaka of her own friendship with Midari. She thinks of the group fondly, realizing these past few days were the most fun she’s had in awhile.

Ririka, on the other hand, didn’t know how she became so unfortunate enough to get stuck with a group like this. She liked Sayaka enough and Kirari was her sister, but Midari was a disaster waiting to happen. Spending a whole day alone with her was almost too much. And she was annoyed at Kirari for making her do all the shopping for the two of them. If she wanted something, she should get it herself. Still, Ririka got two of everything just in case. For now, it was her job to take care of that lovesick fool, even if it meant shopping for two.

“Oi, Sayaka!”

Peeking out of the dressing room, she turns her head towards Midari’s voice. When she spots her, she can’t help but laugh. Midari had come out of her own dressing room wearing clashing colors and sunglasses, posing as if she was on a runway. It was her way of entertaining herself.

“Those leopard pants really go well with that shirt,” Sayaka giggles.

“Right? I think it really accents the hot pink,” Midari adds, indicating to the brightly colored stripes of the shirt.

Ririka exits her own room after overhearing their conversation, wearing a pantsuit she knows Kirari would like. “You look ridiculous.”

Sayaka laughs again as she finishes dressing before joining Ririka at the large mirror. Midari took off the sunglasses as Sayaka walked out.

“Oh, damn.” Midari gawked as Sayaka turned this way and that in front of the mirror. “You look so hot.”

Sayaka silently agreed. The dark plum colored jumpsuit brought out her eyes and its off the shoulder straps would be nice if paired with a necklace. Kirari had a good eye.

Midari almost knocked her over as she went to hug her. “You have to get that!”

Sayaka looked at her and just shrugged. “It’s too much for one jumpsuit. Besides, we can always find something else.”

This was the fifth store they’ve been to and no matter how many clothes she’s tried on, Sayaka refused to let Kirari buy her any. The prices were much too high. She could never be able to afford these.

“Look at it this way,” Midari says to her. “You have a sugar mommy now. You can get whatever you want, pretty much.” She looks at Ririka. “That’s how it works, right?”

Cold blue eyes stare her down. “First, don’t call her that. Second, that is very likely to happen.” Ririka wasn’t fond of the idea of Sayaka using her sister’s money to her advantage but she has known her for years. She knew her well enough to know Sayaka wasn’t that kind of person.

“Oh, hey, madam president.” Midari was the first to notice Kirari standing off to the side.

Sayaka turned in response to hearing Midari acknowledge her. She seemed happy, but also… insecure. She had no reason to be in Kirari’s opinion. She walked over and kissed her temple.

Midari fake gagged. “Bleh, you two make me sick.”

Sayaka shook her head at the dramatics as Midari left to get out of her goofy outfit. Her attention was brought back as Kirari turned towards the mirror once more.

“You look beautiful,” Kirari told her.

Sayaka blushed as crystalline eyes looked her up and down. Ririka rolled her own at them and went to change, giving them as much privacy as possible though she can hear them clearly.

“You’re getting this,” Kirari stated.

Sayaka stammered as she tried to refuse. “I-I can’t! I-It’s too much!”

“Sayaka.” The secretary was silenced as Kirari stared her down in the mirror. “You haven’t purchased anything and we have been to five stores.”

“I can’t afford it.”

“Then I will buy it.”

Sayaka panicked. “I can’t ask you to do that!”

“You didn’t.” Kirari kissed her bare shoulder. “I offered. Think of it as a gift.”

“B-But—”

“Now that’s enough of that.” Kirari pushed her back into the dressing room.

Sayaka watched helplessly as Kirari purchased the jumpsuit. Midari stood with her and took pleasure in her misery.

“Where would you like to go now?” Kirari asked.

It was a general question but she looked at Sayaka specifically.

“Oh, um… I don’t really—”

“I know!” Midari grabbed Sayaka by the hand and pulled her along.

Ririka eyed her sister as they followed them. She placed a hand on her shoulder.

“Remember what we talked about,” Ririka said in an attempt to pacify her twin.

Kirari didn’t reveal anything but she could feel the tension in her muscles as she kept a close eye on the duo not too far ahead.

Instead of addressing the current situation, Kirari asked, “How would you feel if Yumeko did that with Mary?”

Taken off guard, Ririka didn’t really know how to respond. “I’m not sure. She’s very affectionate with almost everyone so it’s not really an issue.”

Perhaps Jabami was a bad example. “But I’m sure friends don’t do what they do.”

Ririka already knew what she was referring to. “You mean the kissing?”

Kirari hated to admit it. “Yes.”

“I wouldn’t worry too much. I heard girls do it all the time as practice.”

Two pairs of eyes watched Sayaka smile brightly and laugh a little at something Midari said.

“We will see.”

The twins followed them into another shop. It was very different from the previous ones. The interior was dark and the clothes weren’t exactly their style. Kirari picked up a leather jacket and inspected it. She could tell it wasn’t real leather but it seemed nice. She turned it around and put it back when she saw the design stitched on the back. It read Fuck off in bold white cursive.

“How crude,” she remarked.

Ririka shook her head in agreement. The two of them felt and looked out of place. Wanting to get out of there as soon as possible, they followed Midari’s voice. They found the younger girls browsing the selections, Sayaka more reserved as she made her selection. Every so often, Midari would hand her one and she would take it without question. Wanting to see what Sayaka had chosen, Kirari offered to hold some of it and Sayaka accepted gratefully. She noticed that most of it was black, just like the rest of the store. Where was the color?

When they seemed satisfied with her pick, Midari pushed Sayaka towards the dressing room in the back and gave Sayaka instructions to let her see every one.

Kirari waited on the other side of the doors with Ririka as the two friends bantered between the walls. Figuring they’d be there for a while, Ririka placed their shopping bags down at their feet. It was much harder to do this when there wasn’t anyone to carry their stuff.

Midari came out first, wearing a loose black shirt tucked into a checkered skirt.

When she noticed Sayaka wasn’t out yet, she called out to her. “Sayaka! You done yet?”

Kirari perked up at her shaky voice. “W-Well, yes… b-but I don’t think this—”

“Just come out!”

A pause. “O-Okay.”

Sayaka opened the door and peeked out shyly before walking into full view. Her eyes were directed towards the floor and her cheeks were red. She wore a thick black shirt that stopped at the top of her thighs. It was accented with a red line going down both sleeves. Sayaka played with the hem as the three of them looked her over. It looked awfully cute on her in Kirari’s opinion. It made her look smaller than she really was and she didn’t mind that the shorts underneath were so short.

“I don’t see the problem,” Midari said to her.

Sayaka pulled at the hem. “I-It’s too short.”

“I don’t mind,” Kirari spoke up.

Of course she didn’t, but Ririka did admit that it did look good.

“See?” Midari smiled proudly. “Now go try on the next one.” She looked down at herself. “Nah.”

They both disappeared behind the doors once more. It went on like this for a while. Some of the outfits were good, some not. Midari finished first, having less to try on. On Sayaka’s last outfit, according to Midari, she wouldn’t come out.

Kirari knocked lightly. “Sayaka? Is everything alright?”

“U-Um… y-yes?” she replied.

“Are you sure? I can come in if you liked.”

“No!”

The adamant answer surprised her. It only made her more curious.

Midari joined her at the door. “Sayaka, it’s not that bad.”

“Yes it is! Why would you make me wear this?”

Having had enough, Midari crawled under the gap of the door and into the dressing room. Sayaka yelped when she saw Midari’s head followed by the rest of her body. She crossed her arms over the skin the short top failed to cover. Kirari was left to listen on the other side.

Midari’s voice sounded joyful in contrast to Sayaka’s. “Look! Don’t tell me that doesn’t look good.”

“I-It does but—”

“Then that settles it!”

Kirari was kept in the dark until Midari opened the door.

“Midari!”

Kirari tried to get a peek but the door closed right as Midari was leaving. A few minutes later, Sayaka came out wearing her regular clothes and left with Midari to pay. Not wanting to stay any longer, the twins waited outside.

Midari walked out with Sayaka, looking very happy and wearing the same leather jacket Kirari had looked at. Sayaka rolled her eyes as Midari walked in front of them, proudly showing off the Fuck off written on the back.

They stopped for lunch and by the early afternoon, they had so many bags, it was almost impossible to carry them. Still, Kirari insisted on going into one last store. They did not expect to follow her into a lingerie shop. It was mostly silk and lace and Sayaka wasn’t really into any of that so she offered to watch their bags in a corner with Midari.

Ririka joined her sister in browsing the selections. They had almost identical picks, most of which were either blue and white. Kirari moved to another area and Ririka let her be until she realized where she was. Confused, she walked over.

“Kirari?”

Her sister barely looked at her. “Hmm?”

“Aren’t those too… small?”

Kirari finally met her eyes. She held up a lacy bra that clearly wasn’t the right size for her.

She closed her eyes, thinking. “Perhaps. I’m not sure.” She looked at Ririka again. “How do you ask someone for their bra size?”

Blue eyes go wide in realization. “Kirari! That is not something you can just do!”

“I know. That is why I’m asking you for help.”

“That’s not what I meant! You have only been dating for like three days! I think you’re moving too fast.”

“Ririka, have you forgotten that we’ve known each other for a couple years now? I think my actions are precedent.” Kirari made a good point, but was it really enough?

Unsure of what to tell her, Ririka said, “If you really want, you can just ask but I would advise against—”

Kirari left before she could finish. Ririka watched as Kirari walked over to the corner Sayaka was occupying. She couldn’t hear anything, but she could clearly see what was going on. As Kirari started talking, she could identify the moment she asked her question. Sayaka became flustered and Midari started laughing. She probably answered for Sayaka because it seems like she couldn’t even give a proper response. Kirari came back to her looking proud.

“I was right,” was all she said.

After this, Ririka needed a nap and maybe some painkillers in case she gets a migraine.

When they got back to the hotel, they all went to their respective rooms. The whole way there, Sayaka was a blushing mess knowing her girlfriend bought her underwear. She may be her girlfriend, but Kirari was still the student council president. It was almost too much to take in.

Being on their feet all day was tiring. Midari tossed her bags in the middle of the floor before flopping on the couch. Most of them tipped over, spilling their contents and making a mess. Sayaka looked at it bitterly knowing she would be the one to clean it up. She sighed, going to her room to properly put her things away.

When she came back, Midari had already dozed off. Sayaka chose not to disturb her. If she pesters her about it now, it will just be a waste of her energy and time. She kneels and starts folding the jumbled pile of cloth. On the bright side, Midari wasn’t one for shopping either so there wasn’t much to tidy up. Her movements were swift and made quick work of the cluttered floor.

With the last article of clothing out of the way, Sayaka picked up the boxes that tumbled out of their bag. There were three of them. The designs were very sleek and on the front of them were similar looking phallic shaped objects, each a different color and design.

She wondered what they were for. She read the side. Powerful vibrator… Sayaka nearly dropped them in shock. Her face became heated as she realized that in her hands were sex toys Midari had bought. She stuffed them into one of the bags and fled the area, so fast it almost seemed suspicious. Sayaka rubbed her temples. Midari could really be a pain.

She looked at the clock. They had a dinner reservation but they still had some time so Sayaka decided to make use of the jacuzzi. She was alone for the first time in what felt like forever. She relaxed in the warm water surrounded by bubbles. She had planned to put some music on but she savored the silence of the room. The tension in her muscles subsided and Sayaka was glad she took advantage of this opportunity. It wasn’t often she found herself relaxing with every taxing day filled with paperwork and council duties. She closed her eyes, almost dozing off.

When she heard the voices, Sayaka looked towards the door with scorn, wondering how long she had been there. Sayaka sighed softly. Her peace had ended all too soon. She was about to get out when Midari burst through the door, awake from her impromptu nap. A startled squeak left her as she curled into herself. Some water splashed onto the floor as Sayaka glared. She was sure she locked the door.

“Sayaka! You won’t belie—”

“Get out!” Sayaka yelled. “What are you doing here?”

Midari didn’t seem to care. When she saw Sayaka’s state, she started laughing loudly. “You want a rubber duckie too?”

Sayaka blushed 40 shades of red. “Stop it! I was about to get out!”

“How about a boat? Does that seem fun?”

Sayaka sat there, not able to do anything about getting treated like a baby. She just needed her to leave . They kept yelling back and forth even as Kirari walked in.

“You’re making an awful lot of noise,” she commented.

As if things couldn’t get worse for Sayaka. She looked at Kirari pleadingly, hoping that, just once, she could be left alone. Kirari chuckled softly at the look. It reminded her of a lost puppy.

“Let’s leave her be,” she tells Midari. “We still have someplace to be.”

“Yeah, alright.”

Sayaka breathed a sigh of relief when the door closed once more. She quickly got out and wrapped herself in a towel. Stepping out of the bathroom, she was overwhelmed with Midari’s presence once more.

“Look what your girlfriend did!” Midari pulled her by the arm into the common area.

Sayaka didn’t resist lest her towel drop. She begged instead. “Midari, please let me change first—oh.”

Kirari was sitting on the couch and at her feet were multiple paper bags from the stores they went to earlier. Sayaka wasn’t sure if she was mad or flattered. A little bit of both, perhaps, but only one of them showed.

“Kirari!”

Blue eyes widened, not expecting that tone to come from her.

“I told you not to get anything!” Sayaka looked at the bags agape. She had an idea of just how expensive those were. “You got all of them?”

Peeking into the bags, inside was every article of clothing she liked.

“You have to bring these back,” she sighed.

Kirari was surprised at the refusal. She assumes Sayaka would be happy. “No, these are for you.”

“I don’t need these.”

“Maybe not, but I want you to have them. You can even wear one for dinner.”

Sayaka opens her mouth to retort.

“It’s rude not to accept gifts, you know.”

Kirari stared her down until she finally relented. “Fine.” Sayaka bends to pick them up then turns to face her girlfriend once more. “Thank you.”

Without another word, Sayaka hefts all the bags into her room and closes the door. Kirari bid farewell to Midari feeling proud. Now Sayaka can wear the clothes she picked for her. Kirari felt a light flutter in her chest at the thought.

──────────── ────────────

“Holy shit.”

Midari looked at her, jaw hanging low. “Is that really what you’re going to wear?”

Sayaka looked down at herself. She had thought about wearing something that Kirari had chosen, but changed her mind. “Yes.”

“She’s going to love this.”

She really hoped so. Sayaka looked in the mirror and made sure nothing was out of place. “Alright, let’s go.”

Kirari waited eagerly outside with Ririka. Naturally, they were wearing matching outfits, ones Ririka had chosen for the both of them that day. The sun was setting and the city was bathed in its orange glow. It wouldn’t be too long before the moon came out.

Sayaka and Midari came up behind them.

“Hi,” Sayaka said.

Kirari turned to face her. The smile left her face when she saw what her girlfriend was wearing.

The leather crop top stood out from under the soft white sweater. The jeans hugged Sayaka’s hips quite nicely but her attention was focused on one area. It was definitely not what she had bought earlier. And with her midriff exposed like this, her little accessory, as Kirari called it, was clear as day.

Kirari reached out to tug on it. “It’s real?”

She couldn’t help the light blush that dusted her cheeks but Sayaka nodded. The purple jewel at her navel twinkled as light reflected off of it.

Ririka interrupted their interaction. “I am hungry,” was all she said before walking towards the restaurant. It was true, but she also didn’t want to watch her sister gawk over something as small as a belly button piercing, despite how unconventional it was for them.

And of course the Momobamis had to flaunt their wealth. With their matching designer outfits boasting world famous name brands, it wasn’t a surprise when they got looks from everyone. But Kirari couldn’t take her eyes off Sayaka. She wasn’t used to seeing her wear something so… bold. No doubt the piercing was Midari’s influence. It suited her though. Midari, on the other hand, was still wearing her Fuck off jacket. A few parents passing by gave disgruntled looks her way as they directed their kids’ attention elsewhere.

──────────── ────────────

They all eyed the menu while also taking in the scene around them.

“Oooh, fancy,” Midari commented.

With a white tablecloth and a chandelier hanging above their heads, it was no doubt “fancy”. The low lights would’ve been romantic if it weren’t for Midari complaining about not being able to see.

Before their waiter left, Sayaka asked him, “Can we get a kid’s menu?’

He nodded and quickly came back with the paper and a box of crayons without question.

As they ordered, Sayaka balked at the prices. One plate cost enough to feed her for a week. She ordered the cheapest thing on the menu: chicken marsala. Light and healthy. Midari went with the seafood paella while the twins both chose caviar.

While they waited, Sayaka pushed the kid’s menu between her and Midari. She opened the box and gave a blue crayon to Midari and a red one for herself. Kirari watched, fascinated as Sayaka started a game of tic-tac-toe. Midari groaned as she either lost or the game ended in a draw. When they used up all the boards provided on the sheet, Midari drew her own and demanded quite a few rematches, none of which were successful. Kirari enjoyed being a spectator. Sayaka, not being one to gamble, did not give her many chances to see her play. While this didn’t have any bets or high stakes, she liked seeing Sayaka happy and relaxed.

When their food came, Midari dug in happily. Kirari watched with interest. She had never met anyone with table manners worse than Midari, who would often laugh and speak with her mouth full. Grains of rice surrounded her area as she continuously dropped her food.

Sayaka was quietly enjoying her own meal, seemingly unbothered by the mess next to her. She had gotten used to it after eating lunch together so many times.

Midari eyed the twin’s dishes.

She leaned close to Sayaka’s ear and whispered, “I bet it tastes like money.”

Sayaka rolled her eyes and pushed Midari away from her.

──────────── ────────────

It was still early when they finished dinner. Not wasting any time, the four of them walked around the city just admiring the night life. It was lively and different from anything Sayaka had ever experienced, used to staying in her room studying or doing work late into the night. She stopped to watch a street performer and even tossed some money into the open violin case. She never knew electric violins existed and made a mental note to do some research some other time. Midari had to pull her away for them to keep going.

Ririka had stopped them next when she spotted a small crêpe shop. Taking a look inside, they were surprised to find a wide variety of flavors. Having not had dessert at the restaurant, they all ordered one. When she got hers, Sayaka cringed at the thought of putting all that sugar into her body. Just looking at the large scoop of ice cream made her hesitate but once she bit into it, the fruity flavors of the mangos and strawberries made her fall in love. Yes, it was sweet, but it was so good . Looking over at her friend, Sayaka shook her head at the giant marshmallows on top of Midari’s own dessert. Kirari and Ririka joined them on the bench right outside.

“Do you like it?” she asked before taking a bite out of her own strawberry banana flavored crêpe.

Sayaka nodded, mouth full with another bite. Ririka hummed happily at her pistachio flavored treat.

They all sat down, enjoying their sugar filled desserts. Kirari was happy sitting next to Sayaka. Every once in a while, her hand would travel to Sayaka’s belly button and play with the little stud. The younger girl didn’t mind but a pink hue still colored her cheeks every time.

Sayaka excused herself when she finished. “I need to use the bathroom.”

Kirari watched as she left, taking the last bite of her crêpe.

“Kirari,” her sister called.

She turned her attention towards her.

“You’re staring.”

Kirari only shrugged before disposing of the wrapper.

They waited for Sayaka to return, which should not have taken long. They wondered what was keeping her when Midari spoke up.

“Uh, oh.”

Kirari followed her gaze and her good mood vanished when she saw her girlfriend talking to a group of men around their age. She could tell Sayaka was trying to ward them off the same way she would with other students, respectful but dismissive. They clearly weren’t getting the hint. Kirari strode over calmly, her presence gone unnoticed by the whole group.

“I’m very sorry,” Sayaka was saying. “But I really need to—”

She was spun around by a strong grip. Sayaka could do nothing as Kirari promptly zipped up her sweater and dragged her away without another word. Sayaka could hear the men calling for them but the shock hadn’t receded enough for her to respond.

“We’re going back,” Kirari announced as they walked past Midari and Ririka.

No one said anything as they followed her back to the hotel. Sayaka wasn’t sure if Kirari was mad at her. She hoped not. The whole walk was tense and none of them said a word. The streets were filled with the noise of people and cars driving by but none of it phased Kirari who breezed past all of it. Sayaka was nervous, not knowing what was waiting for her when they returned.

When they arrived in front of the door to the younger girls’ shared room, Kirari kissed Sayaka’s temple and left without saying anything. Her girlfriend was extremely concerned and looked at Midari in confusion. Midari only shrugged, unsure of what was happening herself and not particularly caring. Sayaka watched Kirari return to her own room and decided to prepare for bed knowing she’ll show up eventually.

Ririka followed her sister to their shared room. “Would you like to explain what happened?”

“Sayaka was in trouble and I helped,” Kirari stated simply as she removed her makeup.

“She seemed like she was handling the situation just fine.”

Kirari made eye contact with her reflection and glared. Having grown up with her, Ririka was not fazed but knew better than to push. She’ll get there… eventually. Sayaka would probably ask about it as well.

Staring at the ceiling, Sayaka waited for Kirari to welcome herself in. When the door creaks open, Sayaka waits for Kirari to get under the covers before rolling onto her side. Kirari didn’t look at her, let alone acknowledge her presence, as Sayaka struggled to find a way to bring up what had occurred earlier. She wanted to understand and for her girlfriend to not be upset.

In a small voice, Sayaka finally settled on, “Are you mad at me?”

Kirari felt her chest ache at the question. “No, of course not, darling,” she said as she turned to face her.

Sayaka relaxed into her arms as Kirari pulled her close. “Do you want to talk about it?”

Kirari stayed silent. The only sound was the muffled clamoring of the city several stories below them. Sayaka didn’t mind as long as she didn’t do anything wrong.

When she started dozing off, she heard Kirari’s quiet voice.

“I didn’t like how they were looking at you.”

Sayaka, too tired to respond and not particularly minding, only hummed softly. She felt the arms around her tighten their hold and reassured Kirari by returning the embrace. If she was being honest, Sayaka would say she liked this possessive side of her.

Lyrics are from I am Machine by Three Days Grace

Everyone’s always writing stuff about Sayaka being into classical music. I decided to write something different. I had fun with this.

This isn’t really centered on Sayaka’s relationship with Kirari but I’m planning on writing a bit of it in towards the end.
