Chapter Text
Boots echo in the hallway as the male grinds his teeth together, staring at the white walls of Tokyo’s Medical Research Hospital. The lights irritate his eyes as his heart hammers in anger as nurses move out of his way, bowing in respect but not uttering a single word. They know better than to approach him with that look on his face and the last doctor that tried to spark a conversation got chewed out so hard that he avoids the hero whenever he spots him. The rumor of the number 2 hero bad temper has never been so real then as it is now.
The Explosive Hero: Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight, Katsuki Bakugou stomps down the hallway, his feet carrying him down the hallway and he forces open the doors so hard they bang against the walls. The room is large, with multiple machines running at once with all sorts of beeps and humming echoing in the space. In the middle of the room is another room with glass walls with a bed inside. Laying under the covers is currently Japan’s number 1 hero, Deku. Izuku Midoriya. Bakugou feels his chest swell in sorrow as he sees the 26 year old green hair man lying comfortably on the bed, an oxygen mask over his face blue splotch face while a iv drips into his equally decorative arms. The hospital gown opens on his spotty chest with wires attached to the skin to document his heart and blood pressure. They’re stable for now, but his rates will drop suddenly before spiking again then become normal. His body is fighting the illness as hard as it can.
“Young Bakugou.” A surprise voice makes the hero switch his gaze from his friend to his idol. All Might. The former hero is still sickly slim with his sunken eyes and wrinkles on his skin, but despite his appearance he’s as healthy as possible. Still doing his hero workouts and going for runs. Though the moment that the green-haired man fell ill, the former number 1 hasn’t left Midoriya’s side. The elder man frowns. “I didn’t know you were coming, did you learn anything new?”
“I didn’t think I needed your permission, All Might.” Bakugou mutters approaching the glass to take in Midoriya’s figure. He’s sweating, must be another fever. “How’s he doing?”
“About as good as can be. His fever is going down but it’s still high.” All Might says softly, as if he doesn’t want to wake the figure on the bed. Bakugou’s jaw ticks, he wants to wake him up. Wants to storm into the room and shake the man until his green eyes open once again. Honestly he feels like he can’t breathe until he sees that shade of green again. The elderly man sighs, placing his hands against the glass, “Unfortunately, the doctors are still stumped. This bacteria is something they haven't seen before, every test comes back as a negative.”
Bakugou is aware, cause he made damn sure that any break in the case he got the first goddamn call! The blonde hair curses as he takes in the blue spots prickling over Midoriya’s skin, wanting to go in there and scrub them off one by one. The idiot has survived so much bullshit, has taken on tougher foes, shit even defeated Shigaraki and OFA that something as simple as an illness can’t take him out now! The hero inhales in annoyance as anger boils his body. Goddamn it he just wants to go all over Japan and blow shit up until someone somewhere tells him how to save Deku! There is a pressure in his chest that won’t let up and he wants to press his hands against the scar over his heart. The one he got 10 years ago during the war when his chest burst open. That pain doesn’t even compare to how he feels now.
Bakugou’s feelings for Midoriya have been complicated over the 20 some odd years they’ve known each other. Ranging from annoyance, to hatred, to friendship, to rivalry until it snowballed into love. Granted, it wasn’t until half way through their final year of highschool that Bakugou realized that the idiot became so dear to him, it was the first time he felt such emotions for someone that he couldn’t look at the nerd for a week without lashing out. His feeling never made it past the surface, and never got aired. Which is fine, Bakugou was more focused on his goal of getting the number 1 spot vs trying to court the green hair boy. Also, Midoirya didn’t have those feelings for him, he had them for Ochaco Uraraka. Despite the pain, the number 2 hero didn’t feel any bitterness towards their relationship and felt joy that Midoriya found someone who made him happy in ways he couldn’t. His friend being in love with Uraraka wasn't even surprising, just something that was bound to happen.
Though, the pain did drive Bakugou into a little bit of a physical spiral into college. If he wasn’t deep into his studies he found himself deep into others. Shoto Todoroki attended the same college as him and they were also put into a room together. The IcyHot hero seem to have a late awakening into his own sexuality after dating Camie Utsushimi during their first year in college. Whatever the woman did, Todoroki seemed to pass between older women and men his age like clockwork, which Bakugou still takes advantage of. Despite all the physicalness their relationship stayed the same it always did which was fine with him because he had his eyes set on being the next number one hero and didn’t have time for romance.
Until a year ago when he was on a job with Setsuna Tokage in Spain. There was a growing uproar in the country led by some wannabe OFA and the country needed help. The two of them went because their Quirks matched the best against the villain and Setsuna was able to translate. They started off indifferent to one another, only passing greetings as old UA classmates, but every morning she’d make coffee and make sure to leave a cup for Bakugou after his morning shower. Their relationship exploded from there and he found he loved how she played just as dirty as he did. Soon, the green eyes he loved to look at changed from Midoriya’s to Setsuna.
Bakugou feels his finger twitch by his pocket where his phone is. The urge to call her, to hear her voice coming harder now than it has the 5 months they’ve been apart. He thought he was getting over her, but something about seeing his first love in pain made him want to see his second love, make sure she’s healthy and safe. She’s somewhere in Europe now and couldn’t imagine calling her up. She doesn’t wanna see him and he respects that.
“Young Uraraka went to the lab. She can’t seem to stay still.” All Might sighs softly, one hand coming to rest on Bakugou’s tense shoulder, “I know it’s hard right now, but don’t rush. We want to make sure whatever this is, whatever is happening, that’s is handled in one swoop. Don’t make my mistakes Young Bakugou, you don’t want this movement to have its way.”
“They’re already having their way!” the hero snaps flexing his hands. There is already an illness running across Japan, just now two more people showed up in Osaka and 3 nurses fell ill! Even though the city of Yanku has been blocked! Bakugou curses as he rubs his hands together in irritation. The movement makes the hero think of you, how you would pace and rub your hands together in the interrogation room before sitting down. The image sparks a new surge of irritation in his blood.
Yor Namae, Whisper, the stupid girl that set this all into motion! You’ve been on the hero’s mind more than the actual illness has been. Your connection yet not connection has been making the hero run around in circles for hours. The number 2 hero has stripped your life down from the moment you were born all the way till now, investigating your relationship with your friends, old classmates, old lovers, reading your blog and all the emails in your Whisper account and you are in fact just a stupid food blogger not some secret undercover antihero cult idiot. Aside from Whisper, the 20 year old is just a normal citizen with a crazy effective Quirk. From what he’s seen, you don’t have it completely utilized to its maximum ability which is apparent to how destroyed your throat got from just 4 commands. Imagine the damage you could have done if you were fully trained in your Quirk.
The image of your hunch over, sobbing into his phone pops into the hero’s head. Your throat hurt and just got attacked but still you silently chanted how it was all your fault, and he could hear the remorse in your damaged voice. It reminded Bakugou of the time after All Might’s final battle as a hero, how he carried the pain of being the hero’s downfall all because the League of Villains snatched him away from the summer camp. Later he learned of All Might’s and Midoriya’s secret and how it was going to happen either way, but the guilt was still there. Your eyes carry the same guilt which cools his anger towards you just a little, but looking at Midoriya now, it’s back to burning red hot. Bakugou’s phone rings in his pocket, making both heroes jump in surprise before the number 2 hero fishes it out of his pocket to see Aizawa on the screen.
“What is it?” Bakugou asks, his heart leaping into his throat. Did you give something to help the case along? All Might moves closer, wanting to hear the conversation as well.
“Yor Namae escaped UA, she’s on the run.” is Aizawa’s reply. Bakugou’s whole body goes still and All Might has the sense to back off slightly. The words replay in the hero’s head before he squeezes his phone tighter.
“What!?” He exclaims making All Might jump a couple feet back. Steam is rolling off the number 2 hero’s body as barely controlled rage pours out of him. “How the fuck did she escape!?”
“She made the students riot it seems.” Aizawa says from the other end of the phone, an icy tone to his voice. The tone even makes Bakugou pause. “From the evidence left behind, she used your phone that you left behind and used it to call Eri.”
“I have my phone!” Bakugou snaps, making his fellow teacher sigh in annoyance.
“She used your broken one! Obviously! She fixed it and used her Quirk on my daughter to make it seem that the school was having a combat game and the more robots that they destroyed the more points they got. The students were so riled up that any effort to get to her was blocked by overzealous teenagers!”
“Didn’t the stupid alarms sound!? How the hell could she even get over that damn wall!?” Bakugou growls. Even with teenagers up in arms, UA has backups and backups of all sorts of technology, even if the students wrecked the robots, getting over the wall was impossible! Between its height and even the electric field that’ll surround it, it’s practically an unbreakable prison!
“Some of the support course students wanted to ‘even the playing field’ because obviously our protocols for their safety ruined their chances in the game. Principal Nezu is fixing that.” Aizawa hisses and the number 2 hero can only imagine the terrifying look on his previous teacher's face. “And I thought your class was terrible to look after.”
“Where is she now?” Bakugou asks, ignoring the comment and getting back on figuring out where the hell you ran off too. Aizawa lets out another sigh on his end of the phone.
“Last we saw on the camera’s she raced down the hill, her last official known sighting was in the marketplace where she used her quirk to make people exchange bags. Unfortunately, the camera’s in all the stores didn’t catch her, the police are still trying to sort out whose purchases went where so we can’t figure out what she took or if she even took anything. Hound Dog was hit with a stink bomb so we can’t use him to hunt her down. We are checking train and bus stations for any sign of her, but I wouldn’t be shocked if she’s changed clothes to avoid being caught on camera." The eraser hero pauses as he takes a deep breath. “We aren’t even sure where she’s heading, we have heroes trailing her parents in case she makes contact. But I doubt she’s stupid enough to go to them.”
Bakugou doesn’t think so either though the whole thing seems so…weird. When he left, you looked like you didn’t wanna be left alone and even before that you made comments about wanting to help the investigation any way you could. For you to suddenly take off like that, to make an effort to run away after knowing that the Paranormal antihero movement was out to take you didn’t sit right with him. The way you cried, the look of painful regret and guilt on your face wasn’t something even the best actors could mimic. Something else is going on, and he knows he needs to calm his temper if he's going to figure out where you went! Bakugou takes in a deep breath before slowly letting it out, closing his eyes.
“When did she even leave? I doubt she could have gotten very far.” he says, whirling around towards the door and leaving Midoriya behind. All Might follows behind, curiosity on his face.
“By the time she left the school grounds it was about 1:15pm. The students didn’t calm down until 2pm, which is why I am calling so late.” Aizawa says and Bakugou curses as he looks at his phone. It’s 2 fucking 13! “I’m almost to the safehouse with Loader and Mic. It seems like she was looking at both her emails before leaving, at least that's what La Brava says. She’s going to send us both the logins so we can take a look to see if anything can give us a clue where she’s heading.”
“I’m heading over there right now!” Bakugou hisses before he hangs up. Allmight trails behind before jogging softly to get to his side.
“The girl going by Whisper escaped UA?” he asks, face in awe, “that is nothing to scoff at, even upgraded Tartarus doesn’t compare to the level of security UA currently has.”
“Well, apparently it only takes a school of teenagers wanting to win a game!” Bakugou grumbles stomping down the hallway. It took only one hour to make all of UA’s special protocols fail, how utterly embarrassing considering all the money Nezu spent staying up to date on all defensive technology. To be fair, he brought you there to be protected from villains, not to be jailed. All concerns have been about someone breaking into UA, not someone breaking out. Still, his blood boils and any nurses in the hallway scramble into a room to avoid the fiery glare on the hero’s face. “Who knows how far she’s going to go with all the time I’m going to waste trying to figure out where she’s heading!”
“Young Bakugou, calm down.” All Might says, keeping in stride with the young hero. “You’ll have better luck tracking her down if you’re not acting out of anger.”
“I am calm!” Bakugou snaps, but the bite doesn’t make the retired man flinch, just frown. All Might reaches out, gripping the hero by the shoulder making them both pause in the hallway. It’s only for his deep respect and admiration for the former number 1 hero that keeps Bakugou from blowing up at him, but the tick in his jaw is still there.
“Listen, don’t worry about heading to campus. Have Aizawa send you her emails and let him worry about the safe house.” All Might reasons as he makes the younger male keep eye contact with him. “Whisper would have traveled as far and as fast as she could while leaving the least amount of evidence behind. However, knowing the drawbacks and limitations of her Quirk, she’ll try to use it as little as possible and only use it when necessary. She’s aware that we are watching her accounts so she’ll be without money thus she’ll have to use her power at some point. That’ll be another breadcrumb to follow.”
If the idiot isn’t caught by the antihero movement first. The frown on Bakugou’s face deepens at the thought. You know what’s at stake, you know the risks of leaving the protection of UA, you know that you’re a target and yet you still left! Different possibilities bounce around the heroes head as he opens his phone to text the Chief of Police for your login information. Could you have been an antihero member after all? No, cause if you were you would have left at the police station! Could an antihero nut have gotten on UA? That’s the lowest of possibilities and even if it was true you’d want to run for the heroes, not away. Did you make a connection? Again, you would have contacted a hero! Logically, anything would make you want to stay in protective custody so what could make you run?
All Might had left the hero to go back to Midoriya’s room while Bakugou made his way to the computer lab in the hospital. There are some scientists in the room but the hero ignores them all as he finds the furthest computer with the largest screen to pull up his email. There is a chime on his phone as he gets a text from the chief saying he sent screenshots of the emails you had looked at by the time you called Eri. With quick strokes on the keyboard he opens his own email, downloading the pictures so they can be all on the screen so he can read them over.
“1:50pm and 2pm?” Bakugou mutters as he picks up the phone to call the chief about the meeting times. The cops did pick people matching the descriptions of the emails and are currently investigating them, but so far no connection to the antihero movement, just people wanting to either get more business for their employers. The hero doesn’t buy it, 10 years ago there were seemingly normal people who were part of the Paranormal Liberation Front that destroyed Japan, even now the damage they caused between heroes and citizens hasn’t fully recovered.
“Bakugou?” a feminine voice makes the hero pause before swirling around to see a rosy cheek brown hair woman standing behind him, wearing a white lab coat and her phone in her hand. Ochako Uraraka, the number 3 hero: Uravity. The usually cheerful woman now has dark bags under her eyes, yet still has the kind warmth she always carries with her. Bakugou’s heart hurts thinking of the pain and fear she’s been dealing with over Midiorya’s condition, she’s probably taking it harder than he is. Still, she gives him a smile, god she’s just like him in that regard, always smiling no matter what the hell is going on! Always trying to reassure everyone and she’s so goddamn good at it she practically rebuilt the trust between heroes and the public by herself.
“All Might said you were in the lab.” Bakugou replies before turning to the computer again. The emails stare back at him and he feels the need to open his phone to call Setsuna. She was always better at these puzzles than he was. He hears her heels click against the floor before pulling up a seat beside him, giving a soft sigh.
“Yeah, I was.” she says, looking at the screen and reading the emails. “All Might got me up to date. Whisper is on the run right?”
“Yeah.” The burst of irritation over you somehow breaking out of UA takes him over again. Seriously! UA!? “She was looking at these emails before going, just trying to figure out where she’s heading. Idiot couldn’t have just stayed still!” Bakugou’s voice raises and the other scientist in the room freeze at the sound but the number 3 hero doesn’t bat an eye as she studies the screen.
“I actually have a theory regarding her role in all this. I have Tsu and Yaomomo working in Yanku for the timeline. But, I think I know why she’s the key to how the illness spreads.” Uraraka says, gaining the number 2 hero’s attention. Bakugou turns to her, gaining her full attention.
“How so?” he asks. She looks over the emails again before making eye contact with her fellow hero.
“Her Quirk is Gossip, right?” she says, pointing to the screen. “I think that’s how it's spreading, by hearsay. That’s why it’s not airborne and it doesn’t transfer by touch. It’s why some doctors are sick and others aren’t and the severity of each patient is different. Let’s think, when does her Quirk end in the chain? How far does it go from person to person before her power doesn’t even need to be in effect anymore? Gossip can spread unprovoked, we see it all the time.”
“Her Quirk doesn’t manifest anything physical.” Bakugou responds, but his mind is working her theory over. “She also said there was an illness, not that she commanded someone to be sick.” Uraraka nods as she shifts in her seat.
“I know my theory isn’t perfect.” she says with a frown, “but that could be just how it spreads. If it was a normal illness then more people would be getting sick, but it's the opposite. That's why the movement wants her, because the effects have ended. You reported that her power’s effect has less impact the more it passes between people and that's why everyone has different severity of the illness." The hero takes a deep breathy shake, her eyes closing. “The way we win is to stop the spread first, then find the cure.” Bakugou’s throat tightens, knowing the slight shake in her lips is the act of holding back tears. Everyone wants to find the cure, everyone wants to save Midoriya, but she is right about keeping the bacteria from spreading. It is top priority.
“Then it’s my job to figure out where she went.” Bakugou grumbles, twisting back to the computer screen. Uraraka eyes shift between her fellow hero and the screen before her hand comes up to grip his shoulder with only four of her fingers in a comforting gesture. Fuck, why does that make him wanna cry? He should be comforting her! Her fiance is lying in a goddamn coma! She gives him a warm comforting smile as she gets up, pulling her hand back.
“We’ll both do our part then tell Izuku all about it when he wakes up.” her voice slightly wavers over his name but her smile doesn’t fade. “I’ll keep you updated on the investigation. Right now you know Whisper best, if anyone can find her I believe it’s you.” she gives a pause as she looks at the screen again. “You don’t think she’s actually with the antihero movement, right?”
“No.” Bakugou says sternly. Your pained and panicked face comes to mind again making his fist ball up. “An idiot, but not part of the movement.” Uraraka nods before leaving the room, her heels clacking in a hurried speed that only happens when she’s on the way to see Midoriya. The hero pauses as his fingers hover over the mouse, eyes scanning the emails once more.
The antihero movement has to know that the police have access to all of your accounts so whatever they’re willing to send you has to be coded in a way that you’d understand. So that would mean they’d study your past just as much as Bakugou has in the past day. His eyes scan the emails again, picking up that whoever U is has sent you two emails. It’s suspicious yet obvious, no one in the Paranormal antihero movement would be so sloppy as to put in the actual meeting place in any of these emails to you.

LitTea shop, moku province, @4:50 pm, black backpack with a red bow. See you soon.
-U
LitTea shop? Bakugou opens his phone and goes into the internet. Your blog is still in his results, having spent the better part of 2 hours reading and going over every post you made in the last 3 years. He opens another browser as he looks up the tea shop. Moku province is in Yamahara which is next to a city that borders Yanku. It’s close, too close. But the shop is right on the border closest to Honsu city, the furthest point in Yamahara thats going away from Haruhi. Bakugou curses as his eyes wander to the clock. It’s 2:37pm and it’s roughly a two hour drive to Yamahara from here. Assuming that’s where you’re heading at all. He curses as he opens another browser, finding a map of Japan before printing it out. Stomping to the printer he snatches the paper before grabbing a marker off a table then making his way back to his desk, looking at the emails again.
“UA is here.” Bakugou mumbles under his breath putting a dot on the map on the location of the school. He does the same thing with the other locations before crossing off the two locations that the police already went too. He taps the marker against the desk in thought as his eyes wander around the dots, thinking of the train stations and bus routes you’d have to take to get to each one. His taping stops as his eyes narrow, taking in four specific locations on the map. “Wait a second.” he mutters, opening his phone as he signs into the police database. He quickly looks up your apartment before looking up your parents address. It triangulates around your parents address!
A curse leaves his mouth, his eyes scanning over the computer screen at the emails. If you thought your parents were targeted you would definitely leave the protection of UA to go help them! However, why wouldn’t you just reach out to the heroes? He would have brought them to UA as well if you just reached out. There must be something more to these emails that made you believe you had to take off by yourself. He taps the marker again as he looks between the map and the emails. You were also looking at Did You Eat as well, so he goes to bring up the emails from that account. Again, most of the emails seem normal at first glance, all places wanted you to review their restaurants. None of them correlate to any of the places he has on the map.
Bakugou hisses in anger, tapping his marker louder as his eyes scan the map and the emails over and over again. The longer it takes him to figure out where you went, the higher the chance the Paranormal antihero movement will get their hands on you first! He knows he should calm down but the anger just boils in his blood, why couldn't you have just stayed put!? Why wouldn’t you have reached out to him if you thought your parents were in danger!? Bakugou grinds his teeth as he fights the urge to blow the marker in his hand up. If you wanted to be helpful then you should have never left! Just because you feel guilty doesn’t give you a goddamn pass on trying to do whatever fuck it is you’re thinking! Alone! Midoriya did the same thing 10 fucking years ago! His breath gets heavier with anger as the thought of his friend laying helpless in this very building with an illness you help cause. He can see your face, the horror in your eyes as you look at the photos that chief sets in front of you. He’s also seen those photos, he sees every new face that falls to this mystery illness as motivation to blow up wherever the hell this stupid cult is hiding!
Something clicks in his anger as his breathing stops, eyes hovering on the screen. In the blog email there are images and basic descriptions of the food and restaurant that’s trying to catch your interest. Only one email uses a picture of a person, of a teenage girl. Bakugou leans closer, eyes narrowing her bright smile as his eyes lower to the text in the email. At first it seems like the young girl is a fan of yours which whoever sent the email wanted to highlight to you. But considering this is one of the emails sent to you before you left. With quick fingers he pulls your blog up again, scrolling down past your newer updates till he gets around to your time Yanku. You posted about two different shops at the time. Three Dear Dumpling was one of the restaurants you went too, but the other restaurant, Bean Paste dumplings, is the one you post about how it’s a family run restaurant. The Hanazaki’s. Bakugou’s clicks on the previous page back to your Whisper emails where he locates the last one with the matching last name.

Yamahara. You’re going to Yamahara! That must be where you’re going! Bakugou flips to the other page, rereading the other email fully again. We hope you make us a priority as our teenage daughter is dying to meet you. You’ll see us, a lone little shop on the corner! Hope to hear from you soon for our little girl’s sake! A lone! Alone! They’re holding the teenage girl’s life as bait for you to meet them, alone! Of course your guilt and fear for the teenager would keep you from reaching out to the heroes for help! Cause you’re a remorseful idiot! The hero looks at the clock, 3:15pm. Bakugou curses loudly as he shoots up from his chair. He should have followed his gut! The hero swaps tabs again, reading the whisper email again as he taps on the desk.
It’ll take 2 hours to get to Yamahara in good traffic, but it’s one of the cities that is on the larger side of Japan, it takes 2 hours to get from one end of the limits to the other. And of course looking at the dots on his map, both locations are opposite of each other! Meaning if he chooses to go one way, it’ll take too long to change course! Assuming the meeting time is 6:30pm, it’ll be cutting it way to close. Also, there is no way that they’re actually meeting at Mountain Hill’s, there is another clue here that pointed you to the real meeting place, but with time ticking Bakugou will have to figure it out on the road! With the map in hand the hero whirls on his feet as his thumb swipes to Tsukauchi’s number and dials the number.
“Good timing, I was just about to call you.” is the response the chief of police gives. Bakugou forces open the door as he storms down the hallway, eyes glazed in focus.
“Whisper is heading to Yamahara.” the hero states as he makes it too the lobby, head whirling around to look for the redhead that's been his shadow ever since Midoriya has fallen ill.
“Yamahara?” Chief Tsukauchi mutters softly and Bakugou can hear some ruffling of papers on the other side. “Are you sure? We found evidence that she took a train heading towards Hosu, she used her Quirk to over pack the trains as it’d be difficult to spot her on camera." The information gives Bakugou pause as he looks at the map in his hand. There is no train that goes straight from Hosu to Yamahara, but it’s not unreasonable to assume she’s taking a long way to not only throw off the heroes but also any villains possibly following her as well. She escaped after 1pm, so she would have the time to plan a route to safely get her to Yamahara by 6:30pm without alerting anyone where she would be. If she’s constantly on the move she’d be harder to capture.
“She’s going to be meeting a villain at 6:30pm in Yamahara. They’re threatening to kill one of the teenagers that is sick in Yanku, the Hanazaki girl.” Bakugou scowls, where the hell is Kirishima?
“Hanazaki?” the is a pause as the hero assumes the chief is looking at the emails sent to you “The Mountain Hill location?”
“I don’t believe she’s heading there. But getting everyone to Yamahara should be the priority while I try to figure out where the actual meeting place is.” Bakugou whirls till he sees a nurse walk by, the male in blue scrubs is looking at a tablet in his hand with a quizzical expression. “Hey! Find Red Riot and tell his red ass to get down here now! We’re leaving!” the nurse jolts in shock before running back down the hall he came from.
“I’ll contact the chief and heroes in Yamahara to be on alert for Yor Namae and any activity from the antihero movement. I’ll set up reinforcements to move out right away and extra protection around Hanazaki’s hospital room. You head out first, we’ll meet you there.” With that the chief hangs up and Bakugou looks over the map again. If the theory that you’re taking a roundabout way is correct then he needs to figure out your possible route and can hopefully intersect you before you even reach the meeting place. With extra protection around the girl he hopes it’ll make you more willing to come back quietly but you might put up more resistance then the last time if you think you can save that girl. Idiot!
“Bakugou!” the number 2 hero looks to see Kirishima running towards him with concern on his face. Aside from Midoriya, he could safely say that the red headed hero is his best friend and someone who understands him the most. He’s the only person alive that knows about Bakugou’s feelings about Midoriya, his rebound nights with Todoroki, and the pain about his break up with Setsuna. If there is anyone the blonde needs by his side right now to help him through any of this would be Kirishima. The hardening hero slows as he gets closer. “The nurse said we are leaving?”
“To Yamahara, that’s where Whisper is heading.” Bakugou says. Kirishima’s eyes widen as he looks up slightly, surely imagining Japan’s layout.
“That’s a couple cities away from Yanku right? That's pretty far from UA even on a train. What makes you think she’s heading there?” he asks but makes his way towards the door that’ll lead them to the parking lot outside. Bakugou snarls as he looks at the map in his hand again.
“I figured out that the antihero movement threatened to kill one of the patients in Yanku’s hospital if she didn’t meet them in Yamahara at 6:30, alone.” The blonde hero says, shoving open the door so hard it’s a miracle that it didn’t break off. Just thinking about it all over again pisses him off. Kirishima eye’s widen in understanding.
“That's why she left UA. She’s trying to save someone.” the redhead nods as a thoughtful expression takes over his face. “I knew she didn’t feel like a villain!” his eyes wander to Bakugou beside him with a furrowed brow. “So what’s the plan?”
“Find Whisper for starters, kill villains if we see them!” the number 2 hero hisses, opening the passenger side door. “Get her back into protective custody, beat her up for being an idiot, and figure out how to cure everyone!” he slams the car door behind him, not bothering with the seatbelt as he opens up his phone again, pulling up the email. Mountain Hill, it must be another clue right?
“Yamahara is pretty big.” Kirishima comments, buckling his seat belt before starting the car. With quick expert movements, the car is out of the parking lot and on the road. “How are we going to find her? It’ll be hard to do that if we head in the wrong direction.”
“I’m figuring that out!” Bakugou snaps, looking up the restaurant on his phone. “It’ll take 2 hours to even reach the city, I'll figure it out by then! Just keep your eyes on the road!” Kirishima keeps silent after that, shooting his friend a glance before focusing on his driving. Bakugou scowls as he looks at his screen as he jumps between browsers studying each word for another clue.
You’re such a goddamn pain in the ass! Once he gets his hands on you, you’ll never leave his sight again! You’re going to be super glued to his fucking hip so you can never run off on your own! You want to help so badly then do it where he can keep an eye on you! Your face pops in the hero’s head once again making his scowl only deepen as all the information that you want to help save someone sinks into his skin. Shit, if you wanna play the hero so fucking badly then do it by his side so he can keep you safe! That way the villains don’t use you to make all of Japan sick or something worse! Bakugou can’t even imagine the sounds of the sobs you’d make if the Paranormal antihero movement succeeds in their plans, making you their pawn once again.
Fucking idiot.
