Cycle 3499.
Dear diary. Today was the day. I saw Ariane again for the first time in years.
I was so surprised to see her, in my mind, she was still the brown haired girl that left for Rotfront all those years ago. Her eyes tearing up because she didn't want to leave.
Now she’s a woman, an adult, who's eyes were tearing up as she ran into my arms. My baby she seems so tired. My little girl must have been through so much.
I knew from the letters Kamila sent that something was happening, something was going on with Ariane but I still don’t know. I wanted to ask but couldn’t bring myself to, I was lost in the happiness of seeing and hugging my child.
I will ask her the day after the ceremony. Tomorrow will be all about Ariane’s accomplishments! And I will be there proud as a mother can be. And I will make a point to ignore Kamilla.
Urgh... Kamilla she… She was so smug the whole time I spent with her today! She was so full of herself because it was her forcing my hand to send Ariane away that put her in this path.
My daughter deciding to leave the solar system should’ve been a point of pride for her. She could’ve died out there.
But now that I’m thinking about it. I did notice that something was off about Ariane and Kamila.
When Ariane was in the Penrose project she worked with a Replika, I forgot the model but Ariane called her Elster. I noticed that whenever Kamila would bother Ariane that Replika would either try to get Ariane away from the situation or put herself between them, this seemed purposeful. I’m not sure if Ariane talked to the Replika about Kamila but I wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t. Or maybe she just told her to be between her and Kamila.
I need to talk to Ariane. Whatever is happening, whatever is going on will be explained when I'm with her.
